Composites are produced by grinding raw materials (active components plus a carrier) down to nano-scale sizes, after which they are mechanically activated in high-speed ball mills with no use of catalysts or chemical additives.
The active component is then uniformly distributed over the carrier, providing for improved chemical reactivity of the components due to the increased active surface area.
The size of the resulting particles can be set in the range from 50 µm to 50 nm.
